Residential & commercial feature walls across Brampton

Brampton Accent & Feature Walls

Tall & Staircase Feature Walls

Feature-wall layouts planned for stair angles, railings, landings, tall ceilings, windows, and long sightlines.

Tall foyer and staircase walls offer enough scale for strong architectural detail, but their height makes alignment, proportions, access, and finishing more demanding.

The design needs to work from several viewpoints: the lower floor, staircase, landing, upper hallway, and adjacent rooms. Moulding, battens, slats, and panel seams should relate to those sightlines as well as the railing, stair rise, windows, and ceiling.

Wall treatments for tall and angled spaces

Staircase Picture-Frame Moulding

Panels can follow the stair angle while maintaining consistent margins and deliberate vertical references.

Stairway Wainscoting

A lower-wall treatment can move with the stair rise and transition cleanly at landings and hallways.

Tall Board and Batten

Vertical battens can emphasize height while horizontal divisions help control proportions.

Full-Height Slat Walls

Wood or panel systems can create a continuous vertical feature where product lengths, seams, and access are planned.

Two-Storey Foyer Walls

Large panels or repeated moulding can visually organize a broad wall without relying on oversized artwork.

Landing Feature Walls

A smaller upper wall can connect visually with the staircase treatment or establish its own focal point.

Why tall walls require additional planning

  • Minor alignment errors become more visible over greater height.
  • Access must be suitable for installation, finishing, inspection, and cleanup.
  • Long materials may need seams, staged installation, or a different product selection.
  • Windows, railings, landings, ledges, vents, and fixtures interrupt the usable surface.
  • Paint and touch-up responsibilities must account for the complete height.
  • Furniture and floor protection may extend across more than one level.

Planning around the staircase

A staircase introduces an angled baseline while most moulding and slats remain vertical or horizontal. The layout can follow the rise, step through defined levels, or use larger panels that visually connect both floors. The correct approach depends on the railing, stringer, landing, wall shape, and chosen style.

What photos are needed?

Provide wide photos from the lower floor, base of the stairs, landing, and opposite side of the space. Include the entire wall from floor to ceiling where possible, plus approximate dimensions and close-ups of railings, windows, switches, ledges, vents, and other interruptions.
